She has more than 24 years of experience, focusing in the areas of spinal disorders, chronic myofascial pain and TMD (temporomandibular dysfunction). The first decade of her career was spent practicing in Phoenix, AZ starting at Barrow's Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital. She progressed from a neurological rehabilitative setting to private practice settings where she began her training in the area of head, neck and TMD under the guidance of Professor Mariano Rocabado, PT from Santiago, Chile.
Upon her move to Denver in 1992, she continued in this specialty with further progression in treatment of the entire musculoskeletal system. She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist trained by the Maitland/Australian approach to manual therapy. She is a Certified Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) practitioner and member of the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP) in Vancouver, BC, developed by Dr. C. Chan Gunn, MD, Founder and President of iSTOP. Annie is also an instructor for TDN (Trigger Point Dry Needling) with GEMt (Global Education of Manual Therapists).
Annie is intrigued with musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction that cannot be found on XRAY, MRI, or other diagnostic tests. She has a passion for her profession and an endless desire for getting her patients pain-free and functioning again. She has found from her personal experience that at many times, the combination of manual physical therapy and intramuscular stimulation or TPDN has been quite beneficial. Significantly, Annie received IMS treatments after a bad car accident in 1998 and was inspired to learn this technique to better treat her own patients. She resides in Thornton, CO. Her hobbies include golf.
In addition to iSTOP, Annie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.
