Aquatic Therapy

Aquatic therapy has been used for many years in the management of musculoskeletal problems including athletic injuries, low back pain, arthritis pain, post-operative rehab and fibromyalgia. Water immersion decreases loading on the joints of the extremities and spine to allow the patient to perform movements that are normally difficult or impossible on land. Support of the joints through the buoyancy of water allows people to exercise through a greater range of movement.

Variations in water depth and the use of floatation equipment can assist with joint mobility, muscle strengthening, range of motion and balance. Aquatic therapy can be beneficial to all ages and activities levels depending on the needs of the patient. At A.Fox Physical Therapy, our Doctors of Physical Therapy can create and lead you through a program to suit your individual needs!

We currently offer our pool therapy services at rec centers in the Thornton, Broomfield, and Wheat Ridge areas. An evaluation will be performed on land to determine your appropriateness for the aquatic program before beginning in the water. Please call us today to set up your initial appointment or if you have any further questions regarding our pool program.
